A walk in Wuppertal Barmen.
Wuppertal is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in as well as around the Wupper valley, east of Düsseldorf and south of the Ruhr. With a population of approximately 350,000, it is the biggest city in the Bergisches Land.
Wuppertal is known for its high inclines, its woods as well as parks, and also its suspension train, the Wuppertal Schwebebahn. It is the greenest city in Germany, with two-thirds green area of the complete municipal area. From any component of the city, it is just a ten-minute walk to among the public parks or woodland paths.
In the 19th and 18th centuries, the Wupper valley was just one of the largest industrial regions of continental Europe. The raising need for coal from the textile mills and blacksmith shops urged the development of the nearby Ruhrgebiet. Wuppertal still is a significant industrial centre, being house to sectors such as textiles, metallurgy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics, vehicles, rubber, cars and also printing tools.
